For a delecious stew add stew beef & Yukon potatoes.

To complete the recipe the package suggest adding:

6 cups Water

2 T Butter

1 lb. Stew Beef, cut into 3/4" cubes

Tomato paste 1/2 cup

1 cup Parsnips, peeled, sliced and cubed 1/2"

1 cup Yukon Gold Potato, Sliced and cubed 1/2"

Salt and black pepper to taste

Directions:

Sort through and rinse the beans. Soak beans 4 hours or overnight in water to cover by 2"
Drain beans and place in a 3 quart pot with water. Cover and bring to a boil. Immediately turn down to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
While the beans are cooking, heat the butter in a 3-quart soup pot. Season the beef with salt and black pepper. Brown the beef 5-7 minutes on all sides. Add the parsnips and cook together for 2 minutes. Add the tomato paste and continue to brown the mixture slowly for 2 more minutes over very low heat.
Once the beans have been simmering for 30 minutes combine the beans and remaining liquid into the 3 quart pot with the beef, parsnips, and paste. Add the contents of the spice packet(included). Cover, Bring back to simmer and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
Add the potatoes and simmer for additional 30 minutes on low heat. Remove and discard bay leaf. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Serves 6-7
